Work – the love that creates

In today’s world, work is often viewed solely through the prism of earning, status and success. Work becomes a means of acquisition, rather than a path to self-realisation. Such a view alienates man from the very meaning of work – for work is not primarily about money, but about satisfaction, the inner contentment that comes from a love for what we do.

Man is created in the image of God, and God is – as Holy Scripture teaches us – a working God:
he created the world for six days, and on the seventh day he rested.
In God’s example, we discover the truth that work has dignity – it is a participation in God’s creation, an opportunity for love to become concrete, visible and fruitful.

Work done out of love gives a person strength, peace and a sense of fulfilment.
It does not exhaust, but builds up.
When a person does what they love, then work becomes a space for growth, not coercion.
That is why Pontes Salutis wants to be a place where work will regain its original meaning – a place where a person does what they love, with love and the awareness that in doing so, they are participating in God’s work.

Work takes up a third of our lives, perhaps even more.
That is why it must not be just a place of obligations, but a place of community.
When people work together, plan, share the effort and rejoice in their success, then work becomes a source of fellowship and psychological stability.
In such an atmosphere, a person grows not only professionally but also spiritually – because work done with love creates peace, order and joy.

Work is love made visible.
When it is filled with meaning, it does not consume a person – it makes them whole.
