Project Varaždin - the new heart of Pontes Salutis
Pontes Salutis in Varaždin represents a new chapter in the life of our cooperative – a space where spirituality, work and community come together. Situated on the estate of the Ursuline nuns in Varaždin, this project is developing into a house of renewal and new beginnings for people who have undergone the journey of liberation from addiction but are still seeking full integration into society.
The mission of Pontes Salutis in Varaždin is to build bridges between spiritual renewal and the concrete reality of work. Through daily life, prayer and communal work in agriculture and crafts, the Co-operative provides a space where one can rediscover oneself, discover the dignity of work and experience the strength of community.
The vision of the Varaždin project is to build a living model of a Christian community that testifies that contemplation and work – ‘ora et labora’ – are inseparable. We want this project to become an example of sustainable and socially responsible entrepreneurship founded on evangelical values, where every fruit of the earth and every working hand become an expression of gratitude to God for the gift of life.
The Varaždin project includes:
- a residential community for people in the process of resocialisation,
- a greenhouse and agricultural production as the basis for economic self-sufficiency,
- workshops and educational programmes that help with re-entering the world of work,
- a spiritual space for meeting and prayer, open to all who seek peace and meaning.
Here Pontes Salutis becomes a place of new beginnings – where life is reborn through work, community and faith.
